Santa Maria del Campo was Court in the reigns of the kings of Castile Joanna and Philip the Fair. It retains three gates of the wall and some noble houses, as the Casa del Cordón.

It is remarkable its magnificent parish church, dedicated to the Assumption of Nuestra Señora”, built between the XIII to XVI centuries, whose “plateresca” tower was built by Diego de Siloé and Juan de Salas. Inside, we can admire the art of its altars, tombs, a Mudejar pulpit, the choir stalls of the fifteenth century, its Flemish tapestries, the pictures by Pedro Berruguete, and a beautiful processional cross and Custody from the late fifteenth century .

At the foot of the Renaissance tower of its church, picturesque streets are extended, surrounded by a wall in the past.
