Torquemada is a significant village in the province of Palencia that is part of the natural region of the Cerrato. In this village are lots of coats of arms, witness of a rich history, which includes illustrious personalities. Here lived Dona Juana of Castile, and was born her daughter Catherine. Ferdinand the Catholic and Charles V were here as well. Torquemada has a long winemaking tradition, reflected, as a legacy of the past, in its traditional wine cellars, some of which are currently used for the production of fine wines.

Come to taste its famous cuisine and its famous peppers. Visit its wine cellars and enjoy its unique heritage: one of the largest wine cellar neighbourhoods in the Cerrato, the monumental bridge built in the sixteenth century, which, due to a later enlargement, its initial 22 eyes became 25, as it has today, the chapel of Holy Cross, with its Romanesque apse, the church of Santa Eulalia or the sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Valdesalce are some other monuments that Torquemada has.
